About
Who we are
Zephyr Consulting Ltd was born when its founder, Jon Z Bentley, decided to leave his full-time career as a Partner in a the major global consulting firm. This allows Jon to focus on the business sectors and issues for which he has a passion whilst also having more flexibility to pursue things outside the world of consulting.
We are selective about the challenges we take on and the clients with whom we work. We always want to be able to bring unique value to an assignment, so we focus where we have relevant knowledge, expertise and experience and on problems where both we and our clients care about the outcome and believe we can 'move the dial'.
In our experience, consulting can only be a rewarding, enjoyable and creative experience for all involved if we have the right relationship with our clients - one built on trust, respect, openness and collaboration.

I have been a consultant for just shy of 40 years, firstly with PW, then PwC and most recently as a Partner in IBM Consulting.
My background education is Mathematics and Economics at Oxford University and UCL, with post-graduate study in Strategy, Leadership and Climate Change.
I am a strategist and transformational leader with deep experience in technology, organisational change and innovation.
I am also a member of the Chartered Management Institute (MCMI) and of the Institute for Engineering and Technology (MIET) and am a Chartered Management Consultant.
I am a keen climber, skier and mountaineer, passions I happily share with my wife and daughters and which we pursue around the world.
Our dog Monty was a constant companion on our travels until he sadly died late last year. We are excitedly waiting to welcome our next dog - watch this space for news of a beautiful white puppy!
I have worked across many industries around the globe, from Aerospace & Defence, Oil & Gas and Banking to Healthcare, Government Departments and Manufacturering. However, my real centre of gravity and the majority of my career lie in the energy, environment and utilities sectors - essential for life and progress.
I have a passion for applying innovation and technology, both of which are crucial to some of the most complex problems we face as businesses and society: clean energy transition; secure, clean water supply; decarbonisation of industry and transportation; and mitigating the societal, economic and environmental effects of climate change.
I believe that whilst data, technology and innovation may be central to the solutions we need, getting there depends on people, leadership and collaboration.
